Israel's Blindness or Hardheartedness and its root.

I shared this on someone else's page: No one has the right to throw stones at any one. We are all born with the nature of fallen Adam, sin and death. Which is the nature of Satan in the heart of man, both redeemed (because they are but children and feed by milk) and unredeemed. Even though God's Spiritual essence is hidden deep within the seed He planted in man.(Gen. 3:15)

This seed requires the Light and Truth be received by our heart to break the shell of sin, which surrounds it. Like the chaff or husk of the wheat kernel, which speaks of a thick layer of skin, usually on the heel of the foot. It requires the Holy Spirit's receptivity and activity to pulverize our stony heart (to circumcise it) to this the LORD told Isaiah this:
Isa 57:15-17, 20-21 "Thus said the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 16 For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before Me, and the souls which I have made. 17 For the iniquity of his covetousness (Israel had made covenants with the pagans which were contrary to God) was I wroth, and smote him: I hid Me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart (this is the character and nature exemplified in Jacob as the supplanter and Israel as his heirs)......20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, said my God, to the wicked."

Now what comes next will require our listening closely to, as it is God speaking to Jacob in Genesis: Gen 28:13-17 "Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to thy seed; 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth (this is Israel as they are the earthy people, they will rule over this earth after the LORD establishes His earthly Kingdom) be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither you go, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. 16 And Jacob awoke out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."

From here we will move forward to chapter 32 and listen again very closely to what it says: 24 "Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man (this is Yehovah-Christ as an angel in mans flesh) with him until the breaking of the day. 25 When He saw that He prevailed not against him (this is Jacob), He touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with Him. 26 And He said, Let me go, for the day breaks. And he (Jacob) said, I will not let you go, except You bless (Jacob is using his contriteness of heart) me. 27 He said to him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 He said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob (supplanter), but Israel (this means he prevailed and will rule as God, Yisrael, this is his character and nature which he passed down to his heirs): for as a prince you power with God and with men, and have prevailed. 29 Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. He said, Wherefore is it that you do ask after my name? He blessed (now this is not as many would suppose a good thing because Jacob used deceit to turn the head of this person away, so this is actually a curse, a negative thing on) him (Jacob/Israel) there. 30 Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."

If you have made it this far you now know one of the many secrets hidden within scripture for our learning.(Deu. 29:29, Hosea12:10) We have to have ears to hear and sees to see other wise we will not see nor understand. Luke reveals this in: 24:44-45 "He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me. 45 Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures." Why do you suppose Jesus did this? because of what he earlier as recorded by Mark:
Mark 4:9-13 He (Jesus) said to them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And when He was alone, they that were about Him with the twelve asked of Him the parable. 11 He said to them, to you it is given to know the mystery (secrets) of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without (the redeemed and the unredeemed of Israel and the Gentiles), all these things are done in parables (see Hosea 12:10): 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13 And He said to them, Know you not this parable? and how then will you know all parables?"
