John
3:1-3, 4-8, 9-15, 16-21
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the
Jews: The same came to
Jesus by night, and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You are a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that You do,
except God be within Him. Jesus
answered him, Verily,
verily, I say, Except a man be born* again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God.
(parallel passage; our first is an obscured passages in Deuteronomy
29:4, Jeremiah 5:21; John 1:13, Galatians 6:15, Titus 3:4-7; James
1:17, 3:17) [*After
natural birth and before you can have new Life you must have passed
from death through death to acquire Life. This is a supernatural operation done by the hand of God for the following reason.
"Called and Saved by God...you get a Seal and a Mark..NOT called by God...you also get a Mark..."
Sadly, we all carry the same seal or mark from our birth which is what
we need to change. But are unable to change on our own, because it is a
permanent sealing and mark, of our heart and not of our mind. This sealing and mark could be
called a scale or shell, which is much like that which a fish or serpents scales look like.
When we learn of mans redemption brought about through God's coming as
the Son of man, to bring about our redemption in mans flesh, as promised
to of all people Adam. Who by the way caused mans heart to become
sealed and marked in the first place. This scale and mark are nothing
short of being separated from God, known as death. Caused by this scale
or shell in the simple act of rebellion, sin. Redemption causes a kink or chink
in the chain mail that is around our heart, begins to appear, in that
armor.....when Jesus defeated the strongman this is what took place and
is to take place within us as well. This is why He only bruised the
serpents head, He did not decapitate him, and why we are to resist the
devil and Satan by taking every thought to obedience through Christ.
Keeping in mind that Adam said that the woman gave him of the fruit and
he did eat....woman there being figurative of the voice of our flesh
which dominates us. Adam cherished his flesh more than his union and
relationship with his Father, the Father of spirits. Thusly causing mans
mind and flesh to act in one accord. But when our heart has been
released from its prison of chain mail through the kink or chink in the armor.
The kink or chink becomes the eye of the needle through which a camel cannot
pass, but Spirit can. IF this takes place within us we are then the
righteousness of God in Christ.
This causes our march to a new
drummer and if we stay the course, He does His works of Salvation both
within and then trough us. Our
greatest battles are the heart mind, over the mind, for the heart
seeks Truth for Truth but the mind only seeks truth when it feels
good or better then the sensation of the high and rush of a chemical
release caused by a lie. Mans Religion feeds this lie and builds upon
it through resistance, and hostility towards God.]
Nicodemus
asked Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the
second time into his mother's womb, and be born? To this Jesus
answered, Verily,
verily, I say to you, Except a man be born of water and
the
Spirit*, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of God.
That
which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I tell you, you must be born again.
For
the wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound thereof, but can
not tell whence it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is
born of the Spirit.
(parallel passages; the first passages are obscure passages from
Ezekiel 16:9, 36:25 and Zachariah 13:1; Matthew 19:28b, Mark 16:16;
Acts 2:38, 1Corinthians 2:11, Ephesians 5:26-27,* Moses'
and Jesus' name have the same root meaning, salvation through water.)
Nicodemus
answered Him, How can these things be? Jesus said to him, Are
you a master of Israel, and know not these things?
Verily,
verily, I tell you, We speak that we do know, and testify that we
have seen; and you receive not our witness.
If
I have told you earthly things, and you believe them not, how shall
you believe, if I tell you
heavenly
things?
No
man has ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven,
the
Son of man which is in heaven.
As
Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son
of man be lifted up:
That
whoever believes Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(parallel passages Ecclesiastes 11:5; John 6:52-53, 63-64, Romans
11:33)
For
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For
God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through (in)
Him might be saved (to
save from the evils which obstruct our reception).
He
that believes Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.
This
is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For
every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light,
lest his deeds should be reproved.
But
he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God.
(parallel passages John 3:36, 6:51, 57, 10:28-30, 11:23-26,
Colossians 3:3-4, 1John 4:9, 5:11, where
we find the word “light” think of the light used to illuminate
the slide under a microscope, this light lightens from below and
through the object on the slide to reveal what is otherwise hidden
from view.
This
is God's Truth, this Truth is only received, as Light, or when it is
believed and accepted as we eat of the flesh of some sort of food be
it bread or possible even water or wine when drank.)
Form
here I want to go into the further revelation of Christ and this
kingdom now in operation within those who are become receptive ones,
those who believe Him and are now one with God through Christ.
A Guide to the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). There is only one Way and that is in the law of Life out of death which brings about fruit bearing (John 12:24-27,1 Cor. 15:1-4,36-38; 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; Eph.4:4-6,14-16). This will take us from a historical fact to a spiritual reality. More than just a Bible study for today. John 12:24 paraphrased, only through death can one become reborn.

The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God
This
next group of passages has to do with Zacchecus and how one might
enter the kingdom of God.
It
has been awhile since I said anything about the many warnings hidden
in the synoptic gospels and this next group of passages has one,
which I will cover later on.
Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, that that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. In the day time He was teaching in the temple; and at night He went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. And all the people came early in the morning to Him in the temple, for to hear Him.
Our
last passage is from Luke and comes after Jesus' death and covers His
burial.
Luke
23:50-56
Behold, a man named Joseph, a counselor; a good man, and a just:
(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them); he
was of
Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the
kingdom of God.
He went to Pilate, and begged (asked
for)
the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and
laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn (cut)
in stone, wherein no man before was laid. That day was the
preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came
with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and
how His body was laid. And they returned, with prepared spices and
ointments; having rested the sabbath day according to the
commandment. (parallel passages Matthew 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, John
19:30-42)

The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God
Luke
16:14-17
The Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and
they derided Him. He
said to them, You
are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your
hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in
the sight of God.
The
law and the prophets
were
until John:
since that time the
kingdom of God
is preached (proclaimed),
and every man presses into it.
For
it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law
(of
Eternal Life in Christ, the law of Faith and Love)
to fail.
(parallel passage Matthew 11:12-13; 4:17, Luke 7:29, I
must point out that because of the error of many, this lower case
“law” has caused mass confusion over the years because of the
beam or mote in mans evil eye. When we have become a doer of He word
this beam or mote is removed and our perception becomes clear and we
then acquire proper understanding of all things spiritual. Without
this happening our understanding remains askewed because of Religions
effect and wrongful influence in our thinking. We by way of wrongful
actions and words remain blind, lame, deft and dumb and without
healing. In most cases it is because we wrongfully quote and apply
Isaiah
53:5 and 1Peter 2:24.)
Luke
17:20-25
When He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the
kingdom of God
should come, He answered them, The
kingdom of God
comes not with observation:
Neither
shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you.
He
said to the disciples, The
days will come, when they shall desire to see one of the days of the
Son of man, and they shall not see.
And
they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after,
nor
follow
them. For
as the lightning, that lights out of the one
part
under
heaven, shines to the other
part
under
heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in His day. But
first must He suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
(parallel passage Matthew 24:23-28, 37-41, Jesus
just here is telling us just how He will return and this has been
recorded in Acts 2 and there after. And as long as the Religionists,
futurists, historians, and Philosophers seek for materialistic signs,
wonders and wisdom they will not understand the mysteries of God. To
accurately acquire God's wisdom all we need to do is become a doer of
His Word, Will and Law. For His wisdom is found in totality of the
ascended Lord, Christ Jesus, this is why both He and Paul has told us
to be imitators of Me, Paul said, “as I am of Christ”. There are
NO short cuts, No easy ways, No church doctrines of mans design or
membership that will get us through the gate and door required of
all, bar none, God Has Only ONE Way for Us All.)
Luke
18:15-17
They brought to Him also infants, that He would touch them: but when
His
disciples saw it,
they rebuked them. But Jesus called them and said, Suffer
(allow,
do not turn away)
little children to come to Me, and forbid them not: for of such is
the
kingdom of God.
Verily
I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive
the
kingdom of God
as
a little child
shall in no wise enter therein.
(parallel passages Matthew 19:13-15, Mark 10:13-16)
Luke
18:23-30
When he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And
when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, He said, How
hardly shall they that have riches enter into the
kingdom of God!
For
it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a
rich man to enter into the
kingdom of God.
And they that heard said,
Who then can be saved? He said, The
things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed You. And He said
to them, Verily
I say to you, There is no men that have left house, or parents, or
brethren, or wife, or children, for the
kingdom of God's
sake,
Who
shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the
world to come Life everlasting.
(parallel passages Matthew 19:16-30, Mark 10:17-31,
Does
your fear of loss (the lust for wealth) of riches hold you back? Are
the things of the material world restrain you? Do the false teachings
propagated by mans Religion keep you from God? Jesus has just said
that we are to become as a little child to acquire entry into God's
kingdom rule again we are to leave behind the known and familiar
things to walk in the darkness of His faith, a faith based in God's
own Faithfulness. If all we can muster is a trust like that of Enoch,
Noah, Shem, Abram and Isaac and Elijah then we just may find the Way,
the ancient path long forgotten.)
Like
the last passages this one takes place after Jesus' teaching on
compassion for others which also set the Religious leaders on edge and at odds with John the Baptist and Jesus, not to leave out the Apostle Paul.
Again
this passage follows another teaching on those who are unworthy of
God's kingdom.
Here
again our passages follow another teaching about a young ruler who
held his possessions dearly or tightly to himself.

The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God
I
do not know if you noticed that I did not make or give a statement
about the demons, devils, mute spirits and the chief ruler sent to
test us in our imaginations of the mind, which is doubtfulness as
revealed in Luke 11:14 and 12:22-34. I did so because the worlds
church system denies the existence of these kinds of operations,
within its own four walls. And by the very fact of this allows them
room and latitude to operate freely within the church. Why is this
so? Because it is in consort with the angel of light, the false
prophet and anti-christ of Revelation, its own form of the bridegroom
and the harlot of mystical Babylon. The true purpose of mans Religion
and its many and diversified denominations, as a house divided. Which
we heard Jesus say will not be able to withstand Him and the Truth in
Grace through Faith and Love when restored to the heart of man, known
and called the Holy Spirit. Who is given when man is separated from
his religion of the mind of doubtfulness. What seems to remain a
mystery is the fact that we are told or cautioned to protect the
issues of the heart in Psalm 4:23 which is part of Deuteronomy 4:9,
Psalm 139:23-24, Matthew 12:35; James 1:14-15, Matthew 15:19-20, Mark
7:21-23, 14:38, Hebrews 12:15-16. God at the moment of mans fall
separated man, to protect man from all forms of crimes of evil this
includes our mind from our hearts own mind. It is this heart mind
that contains the seed of our salvation, which is opened only by our
proper entering of Redemption. Leo Tolstoy in his book titled “The
Gospel in Brief” reveals much of the secret things of God contained
in Christ.
Luke
13:10-17, 18-21, 22-30 Jesus was teaching in one of the
synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there
was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was
bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
When Jesus saw her, He called and said to her, Woman,
you are loosed from your infirmity.
He laid hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and
glorified God. The ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation,
because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said to the
people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them
therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Lord
answered him, You
hypocrite,
does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or
ass
from the stall, and lead
it
away
to watering?
And
ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has
bound, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath
day?
When He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed: and
all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by
Him.
Do you hear the indignation in the voice of the ruler of this synagogue? And the rebuttal of the Lord in the same voice of indignation and intolerance when He calls him a hypocrite? Jesus identifies the spirit of infirmity as Satan who has bound the woman even while she was a welcome member of this assembly, signifying the true hidden operation of this same assemblage within the walls of this synagogue.
He
went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward
Jerusalem. Then
said someone to Him, Lord, are there few that be saved? Answered him,
Strive
to enter in at the strait gate: for
many,
I say to you, will
seek to enter in,
and shall not be able.
For
when the master of the house is risen up, and has shut to the door,
and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying,
Lord, Lord, open to us; and He shall answer you, I know you not who
you are:
Then
shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and
You have taught in our streets.
But
He shall say, I tell you, I know not who you are; depart from Me, all
workers
of iniquity.
There
shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and
Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the
kingdom of God,
and you
thrust
out.
They
shall come from the east, and
the
west, and from the north, and
the
south, and shall sit down in the
kingdom of God.
Behold,
there are those who will be last which shall be first, and there are
first which shall be last. (parallel
passages Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23)
Luke 14:15-24 When one of them that sat at meat with Him heard these things, he said to Him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Then He said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servants at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So the servants came, and showed their lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servants, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servants said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said to the servants, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel all to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. (parallel passage Matthew 22:1-10, Revelation 19:1-10, 21:1-7, all of Israel had been summoned to the feast for the preparations had been those 1500 or so years in the making from Abraham until John the Baptist came as seen in Matthew 11 and Luke 16. And since the day of visitation and His return as the Holy Spirit He has been all about the summoning of all in the highways, hedges to compel all to come in that His house by filled.)
The next passages follow Jesus' teaching on the righteous upright steward which the Religious establishment took as a put down because it spoke directly to them and error of their ways.
Healing
on the Sabbath

Then
He said, to
what is the
kingdom of God
like? and whereto shall I resemble it?
It
is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his
garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air
lodged in the branches of it.
Again He said, Whereto
shall I liken the
kingdom of God?
It
is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal,
till the whole was leavened.

The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God
Luke
10:1-12, 13-16
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent
them two and two before His face into every city and place, where He
Himself was going to come. Therefore
He said to them, The
harvest truly
is
great,
but the laborers
few:
pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send laborers
into His harvest.
Go
your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Carry
neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Whatever
house you enter, first say, Peace
be
to
this house.
And
if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not,
it shall turn to you again.
In
the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give:
for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Whatever
city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set
before you:
And
heal the sick that are therein, say to them, The
kingdom of God
is come nigh to you.
But
whatever city you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out
into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your
city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you: moreover be
sure of this, that the
kingdom of God
has come near you.
I
say to you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom,
than for that city.
Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell. He that hears you hears Me; and he that despises you despises Me; and he that despises Me despises Him that sent Me. (parallel passage Matthew 11:20-24, we must keep in mind that all this is tied to the kingdom of heaven and God. So that being correct and true when Jesus said, those who hear you hear Me, and also said, that those who despise you despise Me and He that sent Me, is saying that we have the ability or right, power to speak what He tells us. Because He is the Lord of the Harvest who sends out His laborers. Here again there are limitations imposed on us as there are qualifications also imposed on us. These are the rules, and laws of the kingdom.)
Luke 11:14-23 He was casting out a devil, and it was dumb (mute); when the devil (demon, evil spirit) was gone out, the dumb (mute) spoke; and the people wondered. But some of them said, He casts out devils (demons, evil spirits) through Beelzebub the chief (ruler) of the devils (demons, evil spirits). Others, tempting (to test) Him, sought of Him a sign from heaven. But He, knew their thoughts, said, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because you say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divides his spoils. He that is not with Me is against Me: and he that gathers not with Me scatters. (parallel passages Matthew 12:22-30, Mark 3:20-27, the question here then is are we with or against Him? And the key is the word "with". Webster's 1828 Dictionary says this: With, in composition, signifies for the most part opposition, privation; or separation, departure. With and by are closely allied in many of their uses, and it is not easy to lay down a rule by which their uses may be distinguished.)
Luke 12:22-34 He said to His disciples, Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If you then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say to you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? And seek not what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that you have need of these things. But seek the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added to you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither does moth corrupt. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (parallel passage Matthew 6:25-34, within this text we find that we are to one take no thought of life, two that life is more than our thoughts, third that we are not to be mindful which is to be doubtful in mind, and fourthly to seek the kingdom rule of God above all others things of our minds imagination which is doubtfulness and why is this all so? Because it is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom, as the treasure of our heart.)

The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God
Luke
9:1-6
He called His twelve disciples together, and gave
them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
And
He sent them to preach (proclaim)
the kingdom of God,
and to heal the sick. He said to them, Take
nothing for
your
journey,
neither staff, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have
two coats apiece.
Whatever
house you enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
And
whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off
the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
Jesus gave the disciple both "power and authority over devils and diseases", whereas we have been given only the power (right or privilege, Matthew 10:40, John 1:12, Colossians 2:6) to become sons of God which is not the same. To assume something not given is sin and there are many who proclaim this error just as there are many who assume and proclaim the earthly, material things as given to the heirs of Abraham and Isaac through Jacob or Israel. Jesus in and during His teaching has established a pattern of one laying a solid foundation and then like a master builder building upon that foundation. This is also the pattern of the workings of God the Father and the Holy Spirit because they are after all in one accord. So if we look at the word authority with its definition we find this when using Webster's 1828 Dictionary: the authority of age or example, which is submitted to or respected, in some measure, as a law, or rule of action (the kingdom of heaven and of God). That which is claimed in justification or support of opinions and measures. In Government; the persons or the body exercising power or command; as the local authorities of the states. From the command use of authority we find this; the power to command, determine influence, or judgment and the source of definitive information.
So the word power is part of the whole of the word authority and now we will also look at the word power from the same source: first we find it to mean to exercise, or exert force. In a philosophical sense, the faculty of doing or performing any thing; the faculty of moving or of producing a change in something; ability or strength. A man raises his hand by his own power, or by power moves another body. The exertion of power proceeds from the will, and in strictness, no being destitute of will or intelligence, can exert power. Power in man is active or speculative. Active power is that which moves the body; speculative power is that by which we see, judge, remember, or in general, by which we think. Power may exist without exertion. We have power to speak when we are silent. A sovereign, whether emperor, king or governing prince or the legislature of a state; as the powers of Europe; the great powers; the smaller powers. In this sense, the state or nation governed seems to be included in the word power. Great Britain is a great naval power. One invested with authority; a ruler; a civil magistrate as found in Romans 13. Divinity; a celestial or invisible being or agent supposed to have dominion over some part of creation; as celestial powers; the powers of darkness. Of angels, good or bad, Satan is said to have the power of death, as he introduced sin (rebellion), the cause of death, temporal and eternal, and torments men with the feat of death and future misery, Colossians 1, Ephesians 6. Christ is called the power of God, because through Him and His Gospel, God displays His Power and Authority in ransoming and saving sinners, 1 Corinthians 1.
In the last line of the above we find both Redemption (power) and the Salvation (authority), where Salvation is the governing influence (preservation from destruction, danger or great calamity) housing power or Redemption within it. Appropriately in theology, the redemption of man from the bondage of sin and liability to eternal death (being the continued separation, “the feat of death and future misery” from God), and the conferring on him everlasting happiness. This is the great salvation. Godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, 2 Corinthians 7. Deliverance from enemies; victory, Exodus 14 where Pharaoh and Egypt are symbols of all that is of the world or earthy (self-rule) and mans Religion. Remission of sins, or saving graces, Luke 19. The author of man's salvation, Psalm 27.
Luke 9:10-11, 12-17, 18-20, 21-27, 57-62 And the apostles, when they were returned, told Him all that they had done. And He took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. And the people, when they knew it, they followed Him: and He received them, and spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
When the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said to Him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place. But He said to them, Give you them to eat. They said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people. For they were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. And they did so, and made them all sit down. Then He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. (parallel passages Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:30-44, John 6:1-14)
It came to pass, as He was alone praying, His disciples were with Him: and He asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? They said, John the Baptist; but some, Elias; and others one of the old prophets is risen again. He said to them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. (parallel passage Matthew 16:13-19, Mark 8:27-29)
He straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. He said to all, If any will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever will save his life shall lose it: but whoever will lose (give up) his (self ) life for My sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? For whoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels. I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. (parallel passages Matthew 16:20-28, Mark 8:30-9:1, herein is a warning hidden)
It came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said to Him, Lord, I will follow You wherever You go. Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has no where to lay His head. He said to another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go and preach the kingdom of God. Another also said, Lord, I will follow You; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. Jesus said to him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.(parallel passage Matthew 8:19-22)
